“This is what it’s all about… Real People, Real Results! This testimonial was sent to us by a very respected man by the name of Bill Yarbrough. Bill found the time during his very busy schedule to write this and submit it because he is a true Believer in our company and products. We cannot thank you enough Bill and we promise to always make products that will surpass expectations and provide quality, consistent results.”

UNCUT – UNEDITED – NO B.S. Testimonial on BasixBCAA. (Progress photo’s shown at the bottom)

Okay, I know we’ve heard it all before about supplements and their outrageous claims of success. I’m not here to give you one of those BS stories and show a before and after picture where the “before” picture is me white as a ghost, and before I even started working out. Nor am I going to show you an “after” photo where I’m all tan, crushing a diuretic, and all juiced up only to proclaim that an NOS product staked with creatine helped me achieve my dream of putting on 25lbs of solid muscle. Come on now!! I’m not using illegal drugs, I’m not tanning, and I’m not being paid to lie to you, so you’re safe with all that!

I hate those ads and I also hate that the fitness/ bodybuilding industry is so shady. Let’s face it it’s an industry full of lies and deceit. 99% of the ads in magazines are by supplement companies that own and publish the magazine. They hire a bogus “spokes person”, who has most likely never even tried the product their pitching. I will spare you the whole rant, you get the picture.

I’m going to assume that if you’re visiting the MuscleBasix site you have learned that the real supplement companies are ran and owned by the “so called” little guys who are actually in the game to help people achieve their physique goals. I will also assume a few other things before we move on. Number one please promise me you won’t ask me if Ronnie Coleman is natural or if MuscleBasix supplements can make you look like Jay Cutler. Second don’t ask me “how much you lift”? Dude, really? Lift what, what exercise? Errrrrrr! If you were going to ask me stupid questions like that then I know you’re the naive green horn who just paid $300.00 last month for the NOS stack and didn’t put on the 25lbs. If this is you, STOP, listen and learn or go away! I’m not nice or patient in my old age when it comes to complete ignorance. Okay enough already let’s get into this.

You’re probably just like me, you’ve been at this for a hot minute and have realized you need or want more muscle. Well welcome to the game. I hope you enjoy chasing your tail! Leave your keys in the basket you’re gonna be here for a long time! I have learned through many years of trial and error in the gym that there are no real short cuts. STEROIDS are not a short cut!!!! They are merely a tool to take someone’s physique to the next level. You can hate on someone using them all you want but chances are if they have a physique that you like and wish you had then they didn’t just crush drugs to get it. They understand natural supplementation, training, rest, and they get the fact that food is the catalyst for all muscle growth. PERIOD!! They probably have forgotten more about training than you know. I have many good friends that are national level bodybuilders that take juice and I have had many talks with them. Remember their not cheating they have to do what they do to compete at that level. Interestingly enough most are under doctor’s care and are doing nothing illegal so relax on that to. What I do find pathetic is the gym tool/ weekend warrior that takes drugs because they want to look good in a tee shirt or tank top. Those are the guys you see blow up 20lbs this month and live at the gym doing the lat flare walk and then they disappear for three months come back in 25lbs lighter only to start the whole vicious circle over again. There is an easier way, it’s called hard work, just saying! With a good game plan, rest, and a solid nutrition plan you will be making gains in no time and won’t feel like a dang yo, yo. You won’t have to tell the stories that you had the flu for five weeks anymore! LOL!!

So that brings us to the role supplements play in this whole game. As far as supplements go I have always been of the school that less is better. I take good vitamins, a quality glutamine, and plenty of whole food protein, and yes some protein powder as well. For me that has always been about it. Until recently!! I’ll explain in a minute!

Before I get into that you must know that recently I went through a four year run of bad health that was caused by a very stressful job and lifestyle. I didn’t do much training during that time but luckily, because I had always trained naturally, I really didn’t lose that much size. I mean I felt like I lost a ton and I would run into some old bodybuilding friends who would mess with me by saying, “Damn dude do you have cancer”? LOL Nice, right, but in reality I was only really down 15lbs tops. On the scale I went from a solid 210 down to a softer 200lbs. So I was down but definitely not out!! Why we’re here I will mention that this debunks the theory that you will lose everything if you don’t work out every day! Catch that green horns? You don’t have to live in the gym, for God sake you grow when you rest!! So back to the health situation, man my ADD is a female dog!

I found out I have a heart arrhythmia called SVT, not STD for you jokesters out there. I lost my career as a result of this diagnosis so I wasn’t much in the mood to train or even get out of bed for that matter. This started the madness of new medicines, tons of doctor visits, and basically four years of BS. Recently though I have gotten way better and finally found a heart pill that stopped my arrhythmia almost completely, Thanks be to God, and as a result my doctor finally gave me the green light to go back to the gym. I asked can I go heavy, all out, balls to the wall, training? He looked at me as if I was nuts but to my shock and amazement he said, “Absolutely, I encourage it”. He explained that it would strengthen my heart muscle and help with any damage I have done to my heart. He did warn about getting too big/heavy but hey what’s too big? Come on now; is there even such a thing? He also told me no matter what I am stuck with my heart arrhythmia for life and that someday I could need a pace maker. That scared me a bit but not as much as my small arms did so I decided I can live with it or it can live with me! After getting back in the gym and seeing things start to respond again I decide “it” will have to learn to live with me, but man at second glance I realized I lost more size than I thought and boy do I have some catching up to do!

One thing I noticed right out of the gate about my training is I am older, much older and man this effects my recovery. So I immediately started to listen to my body and give it rest when it cried out for it. I also started researching supplements again hoping there was something new out there since I had been out of the scene for so long. I found NOTHING, just the same old unrealistic ads and BS. So I again I added my staples, a good dose of vitamins, a quality glutamine powder, and plenty of whole food Protein/ protein powder. See a trend here? However, this time I also added BCAA’s. Why? Shoot I don’t know just because I thought I should, plus research claims it can aid in recovery, bla, bla, bla!

My only experience with BCAA’s came in 2002 and 2003, when I last competed in a bodybuilding show I took BCAA’s only because I wanted to make sure my body had everything it needed and truthfully I didn’t notice squat from them. So after the shows I scrapped them from my staple of supps. With my new enthusiasm for training and my awesome, old man, slow recovery time it just made sense for me to give them a go again.

Before I say another word I have to first tell you I am in no way employed by, sponsored by, or receiving any discounts from MuscleBasix. So my opinion is just based on my results and is as unbiased as you’re going to get. Second you will notice I’m not a model (I know that’s hard to believe), and I’m not a national level athlete on doctor prescribed things to enhance my physique. I am an everyday Joe who loves to work out hard and wants to add some serious muscle. Why? Well if you’ve read this far you know why, it’s a sickness, and you have it to! Also I set the goal (God willing) to compete in a local show again in 2013. So simply put this is a no BS testimonial by just an average guy with average genetics. Okay finally we are at the meat and potatoes here, long winded, Yes, sorry but some of the above had to be said!

So recently when ordering my supps I added some powdered BCAA’s again. I tried two jugs from two separate major combines. JUNK!! All they did for me was make my water taste real good. Now you may be thinking, wow, I read this long write up to hear about some lame BCAA powder? Yep!! Hey it may not be a sexy supplement and may not be a fancy supplement rep’ed by huge pro bodybuilders claiming they can make you look like them but recently they have helped me change my physique. It has taken my muscle gains to a new level. I have noticed muscle gains, fat loss (and I’m not dieting or doing any cardio yet) and my body weight is at an all-time high of 220lbs. So what did I do? I purchased some MuscleBasix BasixBCAA. It’s really that simple. I just simply heard about a no non-sense local company called MuscleBasix. It turns out I had known the owner from the gym circles and remember him being real cool so I thought okay I’ll give them a try. I’m all about supporting local companies. Man let me tell you once I added MuscleBasix to my arsenal things started to change. I felt better, had more energy, and started to GROW. It’s the only thing I’ve added, it’s the only thing I’ve changed. So I know 100% it’s the culprit behind these new gains. Listen, I have read cheesy testimonials for years and laughed as stated above I crack up looking at those before and after pictures but now I am living proof and wasn’t asked to do it, it just happened.

So for the skeptics, you’re now going to ask/ wonder how does he have before and after pictures if this wasn’t planned? Good question, well as I said I have decided to try and compete again in 2013 so I started to take pictures several times a month to catalog changes to my physique. I figured it would help me progress and have plenty of pictures of my transformation. As you can see in the pictures there are no lighting tricks, no tan differences, and best of all I’m not dieting or getting ready for anything. I am crushing food and on my off season eat everything diet yet with MuscleBasix BasixBCAA I have somehow stayed somewhat lean. It is just a fantastic, pure, great tasting product. It has helped me reach some of my goals a lot quicker than what I thought I would. I’m still waiting until 2013 for my competition return but with MuscleBasix in my corner I know now I will be ready by then and a head of the game! Remember my before and after pictures may not be that impressive to you, I get it, I’m not dieting or even doing a stich of cardio but here is the difference they’re real!!! No BS and tricks, no smoke and mirrors, just some good solid muscles gains Just from being consistent with training, and taking good quality supplements. For me MuscleBasix supplements have made a huge difference in my physique. I will admit I am crushing the watermelon BasixBCAA. I’m using about 8-10 scoops a day. WOW!!! Is that healthy? Well I feel great! I’m growing and getting stronger! So for me, yes!! Why do I take more than the recommended dose? Truth is I tripped upon it. I liked the taste so much I was constantly flavoring

my water with it and then started seeing better and better results. I realized, “Holy crud I’m using a ton of this stuff and it’s making me grow”. I have never noticed a negative side effect and so I will continue to crush this stuff every day! The only drawback is I go through a month’s supply in about a week and a half. So it can get a little pricey. I mean heck I’m going through a ton of product on a daily basis BUT can you put a price on TRUE muscle gain? I still believe there are no true short cuts in this game but I have found a product, “FINALLY”, that works as a great aid. It’s not a miracle drug it’s a supplement but for me it is helping put on size, no doubt about it. I thank you MuscleBasix for caring enough about your customers so put away the entire BS and just make a great product. I can’t wait to see where your supplements take my physique in 2012.

God Bless and best Regards,

Amino Acids are classified as hydrophobic, which by definition means that they tend to repel water or fail to mix with water. To take it a step further, the Branched Chain Amino Acids (L-Leucine, L-Valine and L-Isoleucine) or BCAA are classified as VERY hydrophobic. So when you mix BCAA powder, it should NOT completely disperse in water… because the physical properties of BCAA do not allow it.

You continue to see more and more BCAA products claiming to be “micronized” or “extra pure”, which allows for completely dispersion in water. Of course, it’s marketed like a breakthrough in amino acid science… when the fact of the matter is, in order to make BCAA instantly dispersible in water you would have to take something that is hydrophobic by nature and make it into something that is hydrophilic (easy dispersed in water).

I’m sure you’ve all heard of a process called “micronization”… if not, start checking some of the labels at your local supplement store and many of them will contain the claim “micronized [insert ingredient here]”. Micronized ingredients are often described as being capable of a better absorption rate due to it’s smaller particle size… when in fact that’s never been proven and although the story sounds good, it’s really not the case.

How do you “micronize” an ingredient? It’s basically powder being pressed through a very fine screen… in order to be classified as truly “micronized” it must be pressed through a 200mesh screen. This means that all the particles size 200-mesh or larger are retained and the rest that move through the screen are used as the “micronized” form. In order to press BCAA’s through a 200mesh screen a lubricant must be added to the powder to allow it to slide through the screen. The smaller the mesh screen, the more lubricant it takes. This becomes a problem because the BCAA powder that ends up “micronized” contains a bunch of excess lubricant and has been separated from the original batch of pure BCAA’s in an attempt to make it more hydrophilic or more easily dispersed in water.

All studies conducted on BCAA’s that have proved a significant effect when combined with exercise have not specified the material used to be “micronized”… meaning the basic ingredient is the one with the validated research.

Why try to fix something that isn’t broken? STICK TO THE BASICS!

With BCAA powders, Purity means Quality. When you start adding a bunch of excess lubricants it doesn’t become more pure it becomes less pure.

Research shows that adding protein to your diet throughout the day will reduce post exercise muscle damage by helping to repair muscle tissue. The ingestion of proteins may also help maintain glycogen stores. However eating a steak, chicken breast, eggs or even drinking a protein shake during an ironman, toughmudder or any intense training session just doesn’t work that well.

So how do we get benefit of proteins during training without the adverse gastrointestinal affects?

Let’s Get Back to the Basics… What are amino acids and proteins?

Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and muscle tissue. Many physiological processes relating to activity, energy, recovery, muscle strength gains, fat loss, fatigue delay (an increase in time to exhaustion), as well as mood and brain function, are linked to consumption of amino acids.

There are 2 types of amino acids, Essential and Non-essential. The difference is simple, Essential Amino Acids are those amino acids your body cannot manufacture and must be consumed through diet or supplementation. They are Essential to survival and also Essential to getting results in the gym. Non-essential Amino Acids can be manufactured or synthesized by the body.

Certain amino acids are depleted during exercise. The most important of these are the Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA’s). Branched chain amino acids include Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine. Studies have shown that the use of an effective dose and ratio of BCAA’s while training helps to increase levels of lean muscle mass and to prevent over-training. This is extremely important to anyone dieting for a show or training for anything that requires a great deal of energy. A decrease or imbalance in BCAA levels within the body, many times caused by over-training without proper supplementation of BCAA’s, has even been linked to an overall feeling of mental and physical fatigue and mild depression like symptoms.

The amount and ratio of amino acids helps determine the value of protein quality. The ability to use these amino acids depends on digestibility, absorption rate and bioavailability. Simply stated, the proper amino acids must be delivered to the tissues when needed.

Eating quality food is the best way to get Amino Acids throughout the day. However, during training you would look pretty funny chewing on a chicken breast… not to mention it will be digested too slow to have the benefit you’re looking for. When you eat complete proteins, such as whole food or protein shakes, they must be broken down and digested and metabolized by the liver over a period of time. Thus much of the protein is not used as it exceeds the ability of the liver to utilize it. Eating whole food during and right after an intense effort just isn’t practical even if the basic components for muscle repair are there.

Bioavailability is extremely important, especially when we know how important it is to get the nutrition into your system as soon as possible and that you don’t want gastric upset of any sort. Its been discussed that complete proteins simply do not deliver the amino acids quickly or completely enough as the free form amino acids. Complete proteins can also be hard to digest when exercising not to mention the gastric distress most athletes experience by doing so. The value of free-form amino acids is that they don’t require digestion. Having them available in a drink is more palatable and practical.

The best way to deliver amino acids is to administer them in a powdered form for consume in a drink… this allows for an effective dose without taking 20 BCAA pills. During exercise your focus should be on consuming a sufficient amount of BCAA in the proven 2:1:1 ratio of Leucine to Isoleucine to Valine. Free Form BCAA’s can be used by the muscle and brain within 15 minutes. Thus the use of BCAA’s during training helps to fight muscular and mental fatigue while helping to repair and recover muscles.

Research clearly supports the use of BCAA’s during exercise… and a combination of fast acting carbohydrates, a full spectrum of Free Form Essential Amino Acids and electrolytes immediately after if you want to achieve consistent results and recover optimally.

Combining MuscleBasix BasixBCAA (during) and RECOVERADE (after) is clinically proven and guaranteed to give you exactly what you need to get you the results you want.
